LivinginLondon.net is all about finding an area in London, UK which is the right area for you as a place to live. London is a vast city divided into 119 postcode districts. Very few people (even life long Londoners) have ever visited all or even most of them. Thats why you may find you need a comprehensive guide to all the areas of London so you can make your own mind up.

If you take a look at the map on the home page, you will see each postcode area marked. If you then run your mouse across each postcode area, the name (or names) of the district of London to which the postcode relates will appear.

If you want to find out what a particular postcode area is like as a place to live, then just click on the relevant part of the map. When you have clicked on the postcode area you are interested in, you will be directed to a page devoted to that area. If, for example, you are interested in finding out about N11 (which is the area around Bounds Green in north London) just click on N11 on the map. Remember, N denotes north London, SW denotes south west London, EC east central London and so on.

Once you are in a specific postcode page, you will see six photographs of that area just below the navigation bar. These photos have been selected to give you a true impression of what the area is really like. You will see there are shots of typical housing in the area and shots of local amenities such as parks, shopping centres, places of entertainment and local places of interest. If you run your mouse over the photos, some explanatory text will appear for each photo. You can see larger photos of the area by clicking on the more pictures link at the foot of each page.

Below the photos, you will see a map of the postcode area. This is not a map in the true sense; it is certainly not to scale and is much simplified. It is intended to give you an indication of the lay out of an area and important information such as the major roads in the area and where the train stations are located. Remember that the postcode areas vary considerably in size.

To the left of the map, you will see a column of buttons labelled General, Location, Transport, Housing, People, Night Life, Facilities and Shops. If you run you mouse over the buttons, text will appear relating to the specific subject matter.

The navigation bar at the top of each page and the links at the foot of each page take you to different parts of the site.
